Sun Protection Inc. offers almost 40 years of experience and service to the market place for those who need to
control sun problems. In addition to Transparent Shades, opaque and transparent films are available, as-well-as
other conventional window treatments.
MEASURING: (Complete instructions can be faxed or emailed.)
Measuring for transparent shades is simple. Two brackets hold up the shade. Either measure from jamb-to- jamb
or at two points where you want to place the brackets. We just need to know which measurement is given.
The height of the window is also needed (we add on 10-12" for the roll). Glass should be overlapped on each
side by at least an inch, preferably two. Installation requires two screws to a bracket on each side.
Tapered shades require three measurements; corner-to-corner at the top (we will deduct 1 1/2" for fit), plus height of
window and width at bottom. Parallelogram and other odd shaped windows require more detailed attention.
CLEANING:
Cleaning with a soft rag (old tee shirt) and one part rubbing alcohol to ten parts water is recommended.
COLORS:
Transparent Shades come in many colors, the three most popular are:
* Pure gray/smoke
* Gray/silver/gray (most popular)
* Gray/silver (appears mirror-like)
OPTIONS:
The basic shade has a spring roller mechanism, which can be replaced, if necessary. Another option for
raising and lowering is a plastic bead chain control. This option is good where access is remote. If this option
is used, a choice must be made as to which side the chain goes and height of drop. Unless specified the chain
will be 3/4 height of window.
