WELCOME!

Bill Leche started Sun Protection Inc. in 1971 after a six year association with a leading
towboat company. Sun Protection is located in Metairie, LA, a surburb of New Orleans and
caters exclusively to the marine industry.

TRANSPARENT SHADES became a marine staple from the very beginning, because of
two main reasons - pilot houses needed GLARE & HEAT CONTROL.

TRANSPARENT SHADES reduce glare and heat while offering an unobstructed view. These
tinted mylar (polyester) shades are custom made to fit most windows.

Lower the shade during the day (cutting down glare) and you have a more safe operating enviornment to see out of - even in fog or snow. Equally important is the air conditioning doesn't have to work so hard to keep the pilot house cool. This alone makes transparent shades cost effective because of less wear and tear on the equipment, as-well-as the crew. Simply raise
them when not needed.

Other reasons transparent shades have become so popular, in pilot houses, is because they are commercial grade, easy to measure for, easy to install, usually last over five years (which makes the cost about 2-4 cents a day) and a record is kept for reorders.
